Pancake Party was Perfect…On Wednesday, we enjoyed a pancake party! Mrs. Westenberg came to help the children with mixing, pouring and flipping the pancakes.
We read several fun stories involving pancakes including Pancakes, Pancakes! by Eric Carle and If You Give a Pig a Pancake by Laura Numeroff.
Visit to the Pumpkin Patch: Since the letter Pp was our focus this week, our trip to the pumpkin patch was perfect! We read several books about pumpkins, Pumpkin, Pumpkin by Jeanne Titherington, Pumpkin Hill by Elizabeth Spurr and Pumpkins in both English and Spanish with Mrs. Anderson. In art we layered tissue paper to create colorful pumpkins of our own. We also used fingerpaint to imitate some of Eric Carle’s work.
K-2 Choir will sing this Sunday morning (10-14-07): Please make sure that your child is in the choir room no later than 7:40 a.m. We will warm up before the 8:00 a.m. service.
The children have two beautiful songs prepared for the service.
McDonald’s All American Reading Challenge: Please read the family letter that explains the program. This should be an easy task to complete with your child. After your child brings back the first coupon with your signature, I will send the second one home. They can read a total of 30 books for three free Happy Meals. This program is voluntary.
We can also use these books toward our Scholastic Classrooms Care program. We have three great programs that encourage our children to read, read, read!
Moses was a great leader. Though he had many excuses for not following God’s lead,
God chose Moses to move His chosen people out bondage in
Peanut Butter and Jelly is a great play rhyme that we enjoyed this week along with making some of our own PBJ sandwiches. We do many fingerplays, songs, and rhymes
that reinforce concepts and are entertaining and fun for the
children.
Worship the Lord with your family this weekend!
