Summer is just around the corner
and here at Good Shepherd we’re planning an exciting VBS adventure for your
kids! Are you looking for a safe,
friendly, and fun environment for your kids? Then sign up soon for Rainforest
Adventure VBS! The adventure begins
June 16 and continues through June 20th. Sessions run from 9:00 am to 12 noon each
day.
Set in the canopy of a
vibrant and exciting rainforest environment, this lively VBS program will
engage your kids as they discover that everyone can do their part to care for
God’s creation. Through kid-friendly
Bible stories that emphasize stewardship, combined with a jungle of
hands-on, fun-filled activities, at Rainforest Adventure, kids will learn
that it is fun and faithful to share the good news of Jesus’ love with everyone!
Registration
starts after May 7th. For

From Our
VBS Director
Hi Everyone,
It’s that time a year again when
I’m making a ton of phone calls recruiting teens and adults to assist with Vacation Bible School. We need leaders, helpers and junior
helpers to monitor and have fun with the kids as they continue learning
about the Bible. There is no
teaching required. If you would
rather be a part of the music or snack teams we have room for you there as
well. If you’re only available
evenings to help that’s okay. So
please consider giving your gift of time.
I promise laughter, fun and the makings of many wonderful
memories. The VBS dates are June
16-20. Call me anytime with
questions at 262-0044.
To help make our rainforest look
awesome we’ll need to borrow all kinds of critters from the
congregation. Animals like monkeys,
frogs, snakes, birds and big bugs.
Also, we’ll need plants- and lots of them- such as silk or plastics
plants and flowers- big and small.
We appreciate anything you’re willing to loan us. Please write your name and phone number
on a piece of tape and stick it to the item for easy return. Please leave items in the office.
We are offering an easier way to
register this year. The VBS registration form is on line now. Hopefully this will save all of us a lot
of time. Please call with questions

Important
Notes
to Parents
1) We have made an exciting
change to our VBS program this year.
We will be asking for a $6.00 per child donation to help cover the
cost of VBS supplies and materials.
This donation will also include one child’s T-shirt. This way all
the kids get to have a VBS shirt!
Please specify size on the registration form or when you register on
one. For T-shirt guarantee, all
orders must be in by Sunday, June 8th. Because of our changes I will not be
ordering nearly as many extras- so please register early! If registering on line, please mail or
drop off your donation marked “attention VBS”. Make checks out to Good Shepherd. (The cost for a T-shirt for a leader or
helper will be $7.00. Autumn will
get your size. The forms are only
for the children.
2) Parents: We invite you to join
our "Rainforest" Vacation
Bible School.
It takes the dedication of many adults and teens to have our VBS run as
smoothly as it does. No teaching is required. If you’re interested in
helping please give Autumn a call at 262-0044.
3) Reminder: Please use the lower
parking lot for dropping off and picking up children. Teachers will escort
the kindergarten through 6th grade to the fellowship hall for pick-up; all
pre-school children can be picked up in the pre-school rooms. Please note
that no child is to leave the building without adult supervision.
4) Our VBS closing program will
be Friday evening, June 20th. We invite all families to join us for a
farewell picnic starting at 5:30
p.m. A short program will follow the meal at 6:30. We hope that all who have
participated in the VBS program are able to come join in the fun.
5) By chance, Good Shepherd's
church picnic is June 22nd; the Sunday following VBS. Pastor has
asked if the children could come back and sing some of the songs they
learned during "Rainforest Adventure". We would very much
appreciate all who could be present this day. If you don't already have a
home church, we would like to invite you and your family to attend our 9:30 a.m. service and worship
with us.
6) Every year we ask if parents could donate
items of food for VBS snack time and our closing picnic. Every little bit helps. The sign-up sheet will be located in the
fellowship hall at Good Shepherd three weeks prior to VBS starting. Thank you
